Yr - Pin Brooch with Blue Topaz

Yr is a sterling silver stick pin brooch from my Metal Logo collection. Its branching form conceals the Norwegian word “yr,” meaning drizzle — the fine, light rain that seems to hang in the air.

A faceted blue topaz drop hangs from a silver chain and moves with the wearer, continuing the image of a single raindrop.

Although traditionally called a hat pin, this piece can also be worn as a brooch on a sweater, jacket, or lapel. The long pin is secured with a handmade stopper fitted with a silicone insert, which grips the pin firmly and keeps the brooch safely in place.

Best suited to hats, knitwear, jackets, and other medium-weight fabrics.
